Geographical Location
Anzali Free Zone is located in Gilan province, on the Caspean sea and the only free zone in the northern part of Iran. It is near Bandar Anzali (Bandar-e Anzali) and Rasht (Capital city). It is also near Rasht Airport. Thus, plane, train, buses, or personal cars are means of transport from Tehran to this free zone. The area with 40 km shoreline located in the north of Iran, formally launched its activity since 2005. The area, to be precise, is located between navy lands and Talebabad village (in the west) and Chaparpood village (in the east), excepting the port area.
It is the nearest free zone to Tehran (capital of Iran) so it says how important the area is.
